We’ve got some great news to share….
Because of your continual enthusiasm and effort over the last 4 weeks, Team Sunshine Coast Karate has won the Telstra Connected Community competition! WHAT A TEAM!!! But that’s not all…
When we got offical word, the phone call went something like this…
“Well you probably already guessed why I’m calling. YOU WON! In fact, Sunshine Coast Karate got the most votes out of any of these competitions we’ve run throughout the entire country. You have an amazing community behind you.”
And, if that’s not enough, check out the final voting tally. You guys smashed it!!
First: Sunshine Coast Karate, 2,004 votes
Second: Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club, 708 votes
Third: Noosa Dolphins Rugby Club, 379 votes
As at last Wednesday, we only had 1443 votes. The final surge of voting over the last few days, especially on the Sunday was incredible. It was great to see everyone getting behind our club. If you haven’t seen the photos and videos on facebook from the final group voting last Sunday, be sure to check them out.
And before we go any further, we would love to say a huge thank you to everyone for all of your amazing support over the last month with voting and sharing on social media. Without everyone getting out and voting we would not have won.
What Next… So now with the voting all done and results official, next step is to collect the prize and get a “Big Ass Fan” in the dojo. We’ll be giving them a call today to organise a date for the installation. Summer will never be the same in the dojo again.
And then…. It’s Party Time!!! Telstra has put their hand up to help Team Sunshine Coast Karate celebrate and we want you to be there. The party will be hosted at the dojo. Once we have confirmed a date with the Telstra Team, you’ll be first to know.
Thank you once again for your support. And remember, as a team We Can Do So Much More.
P.S. (From Martin) I just want to acknowledge all the hard work that Sensei Sandra has been doing behind the scenes with this project: organising, planning, social media posts almost daily, blog posts, video editing, whipping up support in the dojo, and a whole lot more. I know these results are very much a team effort, but behind every great team is a great leader and Sensei Sandra always leads by example.
