We were all very grateful that Higuchi Sensei decided to bring the session forward to a 9am start. It’s been an unseasonably hot September. In the bit over a week that I’ve been here it’s been over 35 degrees every day, and in the dojo probably closer to 40.
This morning’s session was focussed on kumite basics. Although it wasn’t a highly physical session there is already lots of taping and strapping going on. Thanks to Max from Tasseikan who shared some of his experience from his trip earlier in the year with a great taping video tutorial, which I am sure is going to be well used over the coming weeks.
Tonight we are off to Higuchi Sensei’s dojo for another 3 hour session.
I can’t wait to see how they are all looking by the end of the trip. It’s going to be great preparation for our QLD State Titles coming up at the end of next month. And for those who aren’t here with us, you can still learn along with us, we’ll be collecting footage from every session to share on the Team Australia website so all Australian Chito-Ryu students can share in the learning.
