Today, I wanted to share a powerful quote that I have pondered on a great deal over the years which allows me to shake things up in my life and helps bring me back to a place that I experience ease, flow and a great sense of peace.
“If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present.” ~ Lao Tzu
Life presents us many experiences, all of which I believe are designed to help us move towards becoming a greater version of ourselves. The process of ‘becoming a greater version’ doesn’t come without its own struggles and can easily pull us away from the beauty of the moment and quickly replace it with overwhelm, sadness, depression, anxiety and fear.
Through the practice of Karate and the continual efforts of ongoing personal development, I have identified a few things that help me get back to ‘enjoying the moment’ once I realise that I’m not experiencing a state of calm. These ideas are so valuable to me that I schedule them into my day. I hope these practices are of some help to you and your family as we navigate through these next few months together. They have certainly been working miracles for me these last couple of weeks.
