The First Annual Gold Coast Chito-Ryu Karate Cup is fast approaching and entry forms are now available. The tournament will be held on Sunday 14th Septmeber, with training seminars on the Saturday with Noonan Sensei, Australian Chito-Ryu’s Chief Instructor. This will be the second regional Chito-Ryu tournament to be held in Queensland in 2008 as part of the national tournament circuit and is being hosted by Ashmore Dojo for all members of the International Chito-Ryu Karate-do Federation of Australia Inc.
There will be kata and kumite divsions for all levels and ages and we look forward to a high standard of competition conducted in the true spirit of karate-do. For the 5-7 age group there is a demonstration kumite division, where the younger competitors will get the chance to perform in front of their friends and family in a controlled environment. The demonstration division will feature one match each with close involvement of coaches.
Entry forms and more detailed information is now available from the dojo or you can download from the ICKFA website.
A few months back, with our local Sunshine Coast tournament, we had great support with a lot of entries from the Gold Coast dojo. Now it is our turn to support their event with as many competitors as possible. If you are working towards a place on the Qld team this year, don’t miss out on this event as it will be the last Qld regional tournament before the nationals.
