4 New Black Belts At Sunshine Coast Karate

Congratulations to our newest black belts, who successfully graded to shodan over the weekend: Abi, Raiyan, Steven & Daniel.

It has been a pleasure to see all four grow up in the dojo all having started as children and now teenagers after a combined 37 years of training have acheived their black belts.

Abi the youngest in the group has just about to finish up grade 10 at school.

Both Raiyan & Steven are in the final week of grade 11. At the recent school awards night, Steven was award the highest academic honours in his grade after receiving straight A’s. And Raiyan narrowly missed out on dux at his school.

Daniel has just graduated grade 12 and will do some travelling and university study.

All four of them are a testament to our core message of our dojo that karate is more than just kicking and punching. They have all taken the lessons learned in the dojo and they are using it to help forge success in all areas of life.

It was also a pleasure to have Sensei Bailey & Sensei Sami at the grading to witness the gradings and continue their development as young teachers. And seeing others following in their footsteps.

The future is looking bright for Chito-Ryu Karate-Do on the Sunshine Coast & in Australia.

Congratulations to all, well deserved.

Congratulations to Abi, Raiyan, Steven, and Daniel on this incredible milestone! I’d like to echo the words of Martin Sensei and extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of you. Watching you grow from children in the dojo to confident teenagers achieving black belts has been an absolute privilege.

This achievement is a testament to your hard work and dedication and the incredible support of your families who have stood by you throughout this journey. A heartfelt thank you to them for their unwavering encouragement and commitment.

I also want to acknowledge all the dojo members who have trained alongside these students. Your presence, camaraderie, and collective spirit have undoubtedly played a role in shaping this success. Together, we continue to foster an environment where everyone can grow, learn, and thrive.

Congratulations once again, Abi, Raiyan, Steven, and Daniel—this is a moment to be truly proud of, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of your journeys!
